Hello! I'm Ms. Winta Gebregergis, a certified Georgia Professional Educator with a passion for helping children become confident, capable readers and writers. I hold a Certificate of Mastery in LETRS Science of Reading and a degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University.
With over 10 years of classroom experience, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade, as well as co-teaching across all grade levels from K–5.
I specialize in one-on-one literacy instruction, providing personalized reading and writing support. I meet with students in local libraries or in the comfort of their homes, offering a warm, structured learning environment tailored to each child's needs.
"Scientific evidence has shown that students who have not learned foundational reading skills by the end of first grade are highly likely to experience chronic reading difficulties."
-LETRS, Science of Reading
Race to Lrn's mission is to provide individualized reading and writing tutoring during a child's foundational years, using strategies aligned with the Science of Reading.
1. First, an evaluation of your child's knowledge of basic reading is conducted using research-supported assessments.
2. Next, the data is analyzed to pinpoint your child's strengths and areas for improvement to create a tutoring plan.
3. Then, your child is tutored one-on-one once or twice a week. You get an update on what was taught and the areas you can work on with your child at home after every session.
